We were at a wedding last month and something seemed a little different. It was good but different, the room was laid into a large circle with the ceremony table in the centre.
It was rather spectacular for the ceremony everyone had full view and it seemed like a very intimate ceremony with about 200 guests. Rather smart eh! considering if it was traditional theatre style guests on row 30 wouldn’t be able to see a thing. Its a fabulous idea and it really created a different ambiance.
The bride had the opportunity to walk around the circle before coming to the centre to meet her groom, a long circular runway which everyone gets a clear and equal chance to see her.
Circular ceremonies are similar to that in the historical past. If you think back to the Roman amphitheater large battles were conducted in the centre where everyone can see. So why not have weddings in the same manner..
