This Saturday marked the charity social event of week with Hollywood’s finest teetering down to sip champagne and watch the polo for the annual Veuve Clicquot polo held at the Will Rogers State Historic Park.
Of course the usual celebs were pouting and ready to be photographed whilst they pretend to understand the rules of polo! One actress Zoe Saldana, caught my eye in her Jason Wu dress from the spring summer 2012 ready to wear collection.
She paired the black and white dress with Brian Atwood Zenith Platform Pumps which we thought was a ‘different’ combination but it worked!
The Shoes are simple elegant and patent style and are a cool beige/nude colour which really complimented her skin tone and gives her calves lovely definition.
The Dress by Jason Wu is a superb design and it is this I want to focus on for the upcoming trends of 2012.
An asymmetrical line to a skirt really is a dramatic feature to any outfit- and just as much as we liked it, Jason Wu used it, it can be seen prominently throughout his latest collection from large lines of asymmetry to shorter less noticeable coy lines. It is a great collection..
This bold lime green dress featured below is a lovely statement of colour with the added mini peek in the front of the dress which gives envious onlookers a clear view of the shoes (which must be the perfect set of heels!)
A simple black bow enables the lower half of the dress to become the feature and focus and makes this our favourite in the collection.
The way the dress flows behind the wearer is always a lovely to see as you walk away practically bellowing in the wind! The only part that would be missing would be dramatic background music for a really over the top exit.
We Love it!
One of the best features about a asymmetrical skirt is that it is a great way to show a bit of skin and still be chic and classy, so a short skirt designed with a long tail can come across as more demur which is a great way to mix the two looks of party girl and reserved.
Jason has really gone for strong stiking colours in this Spring Summer 2012 collection and I think thats what summer should be all about!
Hot tip for summer 2012 – Vibrant colours and Asymmetrical skirts.
More to come…
